Aikido is a Japanese defensive martial art based on throws and immobilisation techniques which was developed in the 1920s by Morihei Ueshiba, known as “O Sensei” - the Great Sensei. The Hut Aikido Club is proud of its long tradition of teaching Aikido, having been in continuous existence since the 1950s. The Hut Dojo was the place where Abbe Sensei - who was himself a student of Morihei Ueshiba - first taught Aikido in the UK.

The Hut Dojo is the Headquarters of the Institute of Aikido, which has affiliated clubs throughout the world.
