Congratulations!
On Tuesday 30 August 2016 at Slough Centre Aikido three of the senior Aikidoka of the IoA received their 5th Dan Certificates, they were Trevor Edgson and John Kingsbury, both members of Slough Centre Aikido and who teach the Junior Class at The Hut on Saturday mornings, together with the Chief Instructor of The Hut Dojo, Paul Foster-Dent. They are pictured left with Sensei Wiliam Timms of the IoA Governing Board.

More Congratulations!
Hut member Tanith Barry received her 2nd Dan certificate from Sensei Paul Foster-Dent on Thursday 2 September. Tanith passed her 2nd Dan grading at the IoA Summer School near Edinburgh in August 2016.

Congratulations go to Hut member Roman Skourat who graded 5th Kyu on Monday May 16.

The Hut commemorates Sensei Foster:

Five years on from Sensei Foster’s death, 17 Aikidoka, most of whom were his former students and led by Sensei Paul Foster-Dent, his grandson, assembled at The Hut Dojo on Monday 15 February 2016. During the training session students demonstrated techniques which brought back particular memories of their old Sensei and the dojo resounded to the thump of bodies.

Afterwards, very appropriately, there was a mass exodus to the bar of The Hut Pub in which Sensei Foster himself had enjoyed many a pint with his students.
